Big Splash Newport

Big Splash turns Newport city centre into a stage for one weekend every July. Street theatre spills out of the plazas, music carries down the streets, and families follow the noise from one corner to the next. Wales' largest free outdoor arts festival, it fills two days with live music, dance, circus and craft, and regularly draws tens of thousands of people into the heart of the city. It is generous, chaotic in the best way, and endlessly good to photograph. These images follow the colour and movement of the weekend, from the performers to the faces watching them.
