Creative Photography

Creative portraiture is where UskLight has the most freedom to play. These are portraits that are built rather than simply taken, shaped through styling, light, colour and idea until a person becomes a character and a single frame starts to tell a story. Working closely with each subject, Alex Iacob brings an editorial and fine art sensibility to this work, drawing on mood, symbolism and atmosphere to make images that ask to be looked at twice. Some are quiet and painterly, others bold and strange, but each one is made to feel like its own small world. This is portrait photography as personal expression, created around Newport in South Wales.
